Livestream Tutorial

It’s time to take your provided shopping experience to the next level with Firework’s live streaming feature!

This tutorial will guide you through the steps involved in setting up your livestream & help you bring a truly unique experience to your website.

Start by navigating to the Firework Business Portal. Make sure you are on the correct channel.  Then, select the Add Content button, which will reveal a drop-down menu. Find and click on the Create Livestream button.

You will be taken to the following screen:

Over here, make sure to create an event title and select a date and time when you would like to schedule your live streaming event.

To customize the livestream further, you can set up hashtags, add a poster as a cover image to your livestream, as well as create a custom block list of words that you want hidden in your live stream’s chat.

There is a preset trailer already in place for your convenience but if you wish to upload your own trailer, you can do so by clicking on the little cloud icon on the top right corner of Event trailer.

If you wish to add Video overlays, click on the button and you’ll be greeted with the option of adding Product cards, questions cards, and a CTA button.

The Product card lets you select any video that you have imported into your store.

The CTA button lets you insert the RSVP link for your live event’s trailer video.

The Question Card button shows you the following screen that lets you ask a question and also can collect the responder’s email if you would like to contact them at a later time!

Please keep in mind that if you would like to use an external media input instead of the Firework Camera App you make sure you toggle the button on.

Once you’re happy with your setup, go ahead and click on Create.

If you haven’t already, now is the time to download the Firework Camera App. You can download it from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Before your livestream begins, you have the option to add the products you want to showcase in your event.

Next, you have the option to Multistream which lets you play your live streaming event on multiple social media platforms (only 2 are shown on the example below). Just click on the relevant option, and you will be able to stream it to that platform with ease.

All you need is the Server URL and Stream key.

Within ten minutes of your scheduled event, the “Go Live” button will transition from Grey to Pink. This is when you will be able to click on it and start your live stream.

Hurry up and grab your phone and open the Firework Camera app. You will need to scan the displayed Livestream QR code to go live.

Once done, you are live!

The “Assistant Mode” allows you to monitor the chat and manage your products.

This includes pinning your product onto the video as well as marking it as sold out.

You also have the option to End stream or pause stream. We recommend having a secondary computer to use in assistant mode.

When chats pop up, you have the option to delete the message, pin the message, and reply to it. If for any reason a viewer is misbehaving on the stream, you have the option to block them as well.

A bonus tip is that to end the stream you may do so by clicking on End stream on your computer as well as on your Firework Camera app!

After ending your live stream, you will be able to watch the replay of it for up to two weeks as well as monitor the shopping cart results.

Congratulations, you have successfully learned how to stream live using Firework!
